Quality controllers are responsible for making sure that technical quality standards are being met and that company/industry quality procedures and controls are being followed. They are mainly employed by companies who make or service equipment, tools, pipework etc. for the oil and gas industry. These goods and equipment must meet very strict technical quality standards. Consequently this role is vital in ensuring goods and equipment are fit for purpose, and safe.

You will need an HNC/HND, technical apprenticeship or equivalent, plus experience of working in an assembly or manufacturing environment.
A qualification in quality assurance/quality control may be useful.
£25,000 - £30,000, rising to £35,000 - £50,000 with experience
You could progress to roles including quality manager, quality management advisor, or QA controller/manager.
